Why We Built This Site
North Carolina provides several public access routes, but each answers a different question. Harnett County Sheriff controls detention and sheriff-created arrest material. The clerk keeps filed charges, hearings, dispositions, and judgments. The North Carolina State Bureau of Investigation maintains fingerprint-based statewide CHRI, while the Department of Adult Correction covers prison and community supervision. Registry information has its own state search. We bring the verified contacts, request steps, fees, and limits together so the reader can choose the correct custodian.
What You Will Find Here
- Record guides: how criminal court case records are found and read in Harnett County
- Official check steps: the difference between a clerk name inquiry and an SBI fingerprint Right to Review
- Agency contacts: routes to the sheriff, clerk, city police, NCDAC, and statewide systems
- Record cleanup: how North Carolina expunction petitions begin with the clerk that holds the case
What We Cannot Do
This is a privately run reference site, not part of any North Carolina court, sheriff's office, police department, or state agency. Those boundaries mean:
- We do not retrieve an official criminal record or perform an official check.
- We cannot submit an expunction petition, public-record request, or court filing for a visitor.
- We cannot certify a court paper, rap sheet, arrest report, or other government document.
- We do not provide legal advice about a charge, warrant, conviction, or petition.
- We cannot promise that an agency's hours, address, phone, or fee has not changed.
An official copy must come from the Harnett County sheriff, the court clerk, the North Carolina State Bureau of Investigation, or the agency that created it.
Search Partners
Third-party providers power search boxes on some pages and control their own services, prices, and results. A paid signup reached through one of those tools may produce a referral fee for us, which supports free access to the reference material. We neither set the provider's charge nor control the information it returns.
